 Kent is an autistic 16-year old who has always enjoyed drawing. Ever since he was very young, his artistic sense has been strong, enabling him to combine colors to create beautiful illustrations. Kent’s art styles and medium vary, depending on the subject, from freehand to template, markers to colored pencils. Kent’s Kards were created at the suggestion of his 5th grade teacher, who encouraged him to sell his unique cards. Kent’s first designs were launched in 2005 when he had the opportunity to sell them through Parchment, a stationery store on Nantucket. From there, Kent and his family exhibited his work at the local craft shows with great success… and here he is today with his own website!
Our hope for Kent is that he continues to grow and learn and become a participating, active adult who can reach his full potential in this world. Through his card business, Kent is learning important life skills, social and fiscal, which will serve him well as he reaches adulthood.
